There are few riders in the history of mountain biking who can claim to benefit from what’s unofficially known as ‘the Sam Hill effect’. Sam Hill is one of them. Obviously.
The scientific rules of said effect are pretty easy to understand – if it’s got ‘Sam Hill’ in the title of the video, you watch the video.
That said, here’s a video of Sam Hill riding the new Nukeproof Mega:
The three-time Enduro World Series champion caused the internet to partially collapse last week when he posted his thanks to Chain Reaction Cycles Nukeproof for all their support over the last 8 years. Cue the melting of various subterranian fibre optic cables as fans the world over rushed to the assumption that he was leaving the Northern Irish squad and began hurried speculation as to where he hanging his flat pedals in 2021.
That of course was little more than a piece of mischief on the part of the Aussie super-pinner and the following day it was announced that the 35 year-old had indeed put pen to paper for a further three years in white and blue. Sam looks fast on every trail of course but it’s to be of no further surprise that he looks pinned on the Linga-Longa trails – he won the last EWS Qualifier of 2020.
Sam Hill missed the 2020 EWS race season due to not wanting to travel in the midst of the COVID-19 global pandemic but he will be back to take on the hunt for yet another title this season. Check out the full details of the 2021 Enduro World Series race calendar here.
