Good times only: Santa Cruz x SRAM in Chile

16 April 2020

When in Chile, it is hard not to have a good time. When you ride for Santa Cruz x SRAM, it is also hard not to have a good time. So when Iago Garay, Romain Paulhan, Mitch Ropelato and Josh Lewis loaded up and headed for South America back in February it was always going to be, guess what?! A good time!

Fortunately for the rest of us award-winning lens wielder Sam Needham was a long for the ride and Steel City Media handled the production of the film documenting the trip; Into 'Im Chile.

Round two of the 2020 Enduro World Series was set to take place in Chile last weekend but due to the Covid-19 crisis has been postponed until 14-15 November.

Here’s what Santa Cruz had to say about the trip:

“In February 2020, before everything seemed to change, we sent four of our riders to Chile to find the riding hotspots. But as much as this film is about the places they visited it’s about the times they shared and the energy they multiplied. This film is about hanging out with friends and celebrating every minute of the day together.

Each of these riders is different in every way except that they love two wheels. They show their love differently – flat pedals, clips, small wheels, big wheels, Megatowers, Bronsons, race pace, game face, battling for the clip or dance-offs at night. This is a film where crass and class aren’t at odds, where style and speed aren’t mutually exclusive, where it’s possible to see that opposites aren’t incompatible they’re complimentary.”

Although for many of us dusty road trips and days on the trails remain too far away, this film gave us a little jolt of excitement and positivity to get back to what we all love doing the most - riding good trails with great friends!
