04 February 2020

The 2020 EWS Qualifier calendar kicked off in Australia at the weekend when nearly 200 riders took to the start line of the Victorian Enduro Tour Falls Creek.

A wet and misty start did nothing to dampen the atmosphere, with the sun breaking through in time to dry the trails out.

In the men’s race it was Christopher Panozzo who took the win - beating Jordan Powell into second place by almost a minute. Rounding out the podium in third was Alistair Farley. Georgina Von Marburg clinched the women’s win with Kathryn Mcinerney in second and Natasha Burgess in third.

A stacked U21 Men’s field saw Sam Walsh out front, whilst Ayla Armitage did the same in the U21 Women. It was Frenchman Lionel Sequera who took a convincing win in the Master Men and Julia Boer secured who took top honours in the Master Women.

The winner of each category in an EWS Qualifier automatically qualifies for spots in the main EWS races the following year.

Race Director Nick Buckley said: "Being an EWS Qualifier really pushed us to offer an increased level of professionalism and challenge at our event which helped put Falls Creek on the map in terms of a destination for Enduro Riding in Australia. We're hoping to grow our relationship with the Enduro World Series and we're proud to be part of the family."
