The first round of the European Enduro Series saw Robin Wallner and Anita Gehrig take top honours amongst a truly international field in Spain.
The Enduro Salines in Macanet de Cabrynes saw riders from 11 different nationalities tackle five tough stages under the Catalonian sun, but in the end it was Robin Wallner (Ibis Cycles Enduro Race Team) and Anita Gehrig (Norco Twins Racing) who were crowned the winners.

In the men’s competition Wallner finished the day with a commanding 19 second lead over second placed Mirco Vendemmia of Italy with Spain’s Guillem Sanz Casadevall just four second back in third.

In the women’s competition the only rider who could come close to Gehrig’s time of 28:03 was twin sister Caro (Norco Twins Racing) who took second place, with Marketa Michalkova of the Czech Republic in third.
In the U21 Men Nicola Grotti took the win, with Nacho Valderdegomez in second and Ola Javold Landmar in third. Meanwhile in the Master’s competition Ivan Acosta Segovia won, with Stefano Rota just 12 seconds back and Lee Trumpore of the USA rounding out the podium.
It was the perfect start to the series, now in its second year. Enduro Salines was the first stop of the four round series, which next heads to the legendary Innerleithen with the Poc Scottish Enduro series on May 19th.
