2016 Event Calendar

The 2016 season will kick off in Patagonia with a two day race in beautiful Corral, Chile. This stunning coastal venue will offer riders something very different to the series’ first foray into the country in 2014–the high Andes have been replaced by rolling hills with incredible singletrack that heads all the way down to the South Pacific Ocean.
ROUND 1 Corral, Chile
ROUND 2 Cerro Catedral, Argentina
It’s the first time the series has visited Argentina and riders will be blown away by this famous ski town that lies on the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi in Patagonia. This two day race will see riders take on the high Andes and its wild, exposed trails.
Ireland may not be home to the biggest mountains in Europe, but what it lacks in height it more than makes up for in character. Home to some of the craziest fans the series has ever seen, riders will be in for a great one race day on Carrick’s fast and technical trails.
ROUND 3 County Wicklow, Ireland
It may be one of the most famous ski resorts in the world, but Aspen is also a haven for mountain bikers. This two day race hosted by our good friends at Big Mountain Enduro will feature lift access, offering an almost European flavour of enduro whilst deep in the heart of the American Rockies.
ROUND 5 Aspen Snowmass, USA
There’s not much to be said about Whistler that hasn’t been said a thousand times before. One of the most iconic riding destinations on the planet, it never fails to impress with it’s myriad of famous trails flanking this great resort. Add to the mix the craziness of Crankworx and you know this epic race will make for an incredible time.
ROUND 6 Whistler, Canada
This new addition to the calendar sits in the Southern Alps and is the oldest ski resort in the area. Whilst the venue may be classically French, the racing style won’t be. In a break from French tradition, the race will feature more pedal liaisons and only minimal lift access to challenge the riders and mix things up.
ROUND 7  Valberg-Guillaumes, France
This classic venue on the Italian Riviera is an EWS staple and with good reason - sun, sea and several hundred miles of singletrack. This rider favourite never fails to deliver, with two days of racing winding through medieval villages and towns before ending on the beach and the sparkling waters of the Mediterranean.
ROUND 8 Finale Ligure, Italy
Sitting just over the Italian border, La Thuile lies in the shadow of the magnificent Mont Blanc. This small resort offers mile upon mile of classic Alpine singletrack. A firm favourite with riders when the series visited in 2014, La Thuile offers two days of classic lift accessed enduro amongst some of the Alps’ highest peaks.

"I’m incredibly excited to announce our 2016 calendar. As we move into the fourth year of the series it’s great to revisit classics such as Finale and Whistler, but I’m particularly excited to see the series heading back to South America with two new venues that vary greatly, from the Patagonian coastline of Corral to the high Andes of Bariloche. Add Valberg-Guillaumes in France, the wild crowds of Carrick in Ireland, the well regarded La Thuile below Mont Blanc and an exciting new visit to the famous Aspen Snowmass and we have yet another all round test and adventure for all of our riders.”
